Legacy & Roots
Progressive Tractor & Implement Co. (PTI) was founded in Louisiana with the acquisition of two respected Case IH dealerships: Dixie Tractor Co. in Opelousas and G&S Implement in Ville Platte.
From the beginning, the organization was built on strong industry relationships, operational discipline, and a long-term commitment to the agricultural communities it served.
One of the founders of G&S Implement, the late Luke Soileau, was the father of PTI’s current owner, Thomas L. Soileau. The original Ville Platte location remains active today and now serves as PTI’s training center, IT department, and trucking division—symbolizing both our legacy and our continued investment in operational infrastructure.
1993
